FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
On Thursday, February 27th, at 2:30 PM, David Pautsch, a MAGA Republican from Davenport, Iowa, will officially announce his candidacy for the 1st District Congressional seat in the Rotunda of the Iowa State Capitol.
The seat, currently held since 2021 by Rep. Miller-Meeks of Ottumwa, consists of 20 counties primarily in the southeast quadrant of the State. In the June 2024 Republican Primary, Pautsch garnered 44% of the vote despite a short six-month campaign as an under-funded unknown.
Pautsch, the father of six children, is a Gold Star Dad, having lost his 20-year-old-son, Army CPL Jason Pautsch, in Iraq in 2009. He founded, and has directed, the annual Quad Cities Prayer Breakfast since 1995, and has owned the 102-year-old Ramsey Ad Agency since 1990. He is an Army veteran and a graduate of Virginia Tech in Marketing/Communications.
After meeting Pautsch twice in December 2023, President Trump called him, “…a very good man.” He has been a Trump supporter predating his election in 2016 and is notably endorsed by Mike Lindell and Eric Metaxas.
Pautsch says he is running for Congress because “he wants to help President Trump save America from the financial and moral corruption that has caused us to drift from the solid spiritual and Constitutional foundations upon which our Founders established this country.”
